About us – Basketball betting

Odds, and basketball odds in particular, are the subject: spreads, totals and player markets get explained, along with what a price implies about probability and what the Gambling Commission requires of the bookmaker. Nothing is staked through the site, no tips are sold and no profit is promised, as a bet guaranteed to win does not exist.

Sources

Operator information is drawn from the operators’ own terms, help centres and footers. Legal information comes from the statutes and from publications by the Gambling Commission and other public bodies. Odds and promotions change quickly, so figures are dated and located in the text. If sources give out, the text says so in words and does not supply an invented figure.

The licence test

For any bookmaker taking customers in Great Britain, the public register of the Gambling Commission answers one question: does the brand hold a Great Britain operating licence? The web address cannot answer it, since licensed operators use .com addresses. A Curaçao, Maltese or Gibraltar licence is not equivalent. Where a site lacks the Great Britain licence, the text says that plainly, adds no sermon and names the consequences: GAMSTOP does not apply, the Commission’s complaints process is unavailable and protection for the customer is weaker. Appearing in a ranking is no licence. Northern Ireland lies outside the Gambling Act 2005 and applies its own law.

Intended readers

Adults in Great Britain are the intended audience, because betting is open from 18. General information is what is offered, not legal or tax advice. Betting that has begun to take up too much space can be discussed with GamCare, GambleAware or GAMSTOP.
